Gooseberry pickle
Ingredients:
Gooseberry -10 nosSesame oil -2 tbsp
Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 tbsp
Fenugreek powder -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Salt -3/4 tbsp(approximately)
Method:
- In a pan add a tsp oil and roast the gooseberry for about a minute.
- When it cools down cut them and remove the seeds.
- Dry roast fenugreek seeds and grind them to fine powder.
- Now in a pan add the remaining sesame oil and add mustard seeds when it splitters turn off the flame and add all the spice powders and salt.
- Mix well and add the pitted gooseberry.
- Mix well and allow it to stand for 2 hours at least before serving.
Notes :
- The quantity of chilli powder and salt mentioned above are rough so you add or reduce the quantity as per your wish.
