Capsicum gravy
Ingredients:
- Capsicum -1 large
- Tomato -1&1/2 or 2
- Onion - 1 large
- Coriander leaves - for garnish
- Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Jaggery/ sugar- 1/2 tsp
- Oil -2 tbsp
- Salt- To taste
To dry roast:
- Sesame seeds - 1/2tsp
- Peanuts/ ground nuts-2 tsp
- Coriander seeds -3/4 tsp
- Cumin- 1/2 tsp
Method:
- Dry roast the ingredients mentioned under ' 'to dry roast'.
- Add turmeric and red chilli powder and grind it to fine paste by adding required water.
- Now in a pressure cooker add oil followed by Cumin and onion. When onion turns transparent add ground paste. Cook till oil separates from the gravy.
- Now add tomato and capsicum and saute for a min.Add salt.
- Stir well and add 1/4 cup water and1/4 tsp of sugar/ jaggery.
- Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with roti/ chapathi.
Notes:
- Can avoid sugar if you don't prefer sweet taste.
- Adjust spice as per your wish.
- you can also make this in pan. If so cook it covered in low flame.
