Capsicum gravy

Ingredients:

  • Capsicum -1 large
  • Tomato -1&1/2 or 2 
  • Onion - 1 large
  • Coriander leaves - for garnish 
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Jaggery/ sugar- 1/2 tsp 
  • Oil -2 tbsp
  • Salt- To taste 

To dry roast:

  • Sesame seeds - 1/2tsp
  • Peanuts/ ground nuts-2 tsp
  • Coriander seeds -3/4 tsp
  • Cumin- 1/2 tsp

Method:

  • Dry roast the ingredients mentioned under ' 'to dry roast'.
  • Add turmeric and red chilli powder and grind it to fine paste by adding required water.
  • Now in a pressure cooker add oil followed by Cumin and onion. When onion turns transparent add ground paste. Cook till oil separates from the gravy.
  • Now add tomato and capsicum and saute for a min.Add salt.
  •  Stir well and add 1/4 cup water and1/4 tsp of sugar/ jaggery.
  • Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with roti/ chapathi.







Notes:

  • Can avoid sugar if you don't prefer sweet taste.
  • Adjust spice as per your wish.
  • you can also make this in pan. If so cook it covered in low flame.
