Javvarisi/sago kozhukattai


Ingredients:

  • Sago/ javvarisi- 1 cup
  • Rice flour-2 tsp
  • Salt- a pinch

For stuffing:

  • Coconut gratings- 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom powder-1 few pinches
  • Cashew nut- few
  • Sugar-1 to 2 tsp

Method:

  • Soak javvarisi-/ sago for 2 hours.
  • squeeze and drain the water completely.
  • Transfer it to Mixie and give just two pulses. Now in a bowl mix rice flour sago and salt to form a dough.
  • For stuffing mix all the ingredients in a bowl.fry cashews in ghee before adding in the stuffing.
  • Grease idli plate with oil.
  • Take generous amount of sago dough spread it in you palm ,add 1 tsp of coconut stuffing and make it into a round kozhukattai.( Grease your hands with oil to avoid stickiness of the dough).
  • Have patience to finish all the kozhukattai.
  • Now steam for 10 mins or till the javvarisi- turns glossy .
  • Easy and tasty kozhukattai is now ready.







Notes:

  • Don't grind too much in Mixie just two or three pulses will do.
