Vendhaya dosai/ fenugreek dosa



Ingredients:

  • Fenugreek/ methi/ vendjayam-3 tbsp
  • Idly rice-3 cups
  • Urad dhal-3 tbsp
  • Salt- As required

Method:

  • Wash and soak fenugreek separately and rest of the ingredients together.
  • Discard the water in which fenugreek was soaking. grind fenugreek in a wet grinder.
  • It will become fluffy just like urad dhal. Then add rest of the ingredients and grind to idly batter consistency. 
  • Add salt and mix well and let it ferment overnight or 8 to 10 hrs.
  • Mix well and on a iron skillet pour the batter like how utthapam is done.
  • When holes appear add oil and close the dosa with a lid and cook in medium or low flame.
  • Once done serve. Do not flip the dosa.
  • Serve hot with sambar, chutney . 

Notes:

  • You can soak all the ingredients together and grind but fenugreek may take some time to grind so this method is really good.
  • Doesn't taste bitter.
  • Dosa will be like sponge. Very soft.
