Vendhaya dosai/ fenugreek dosa
Ingredients:
- Fenugreek/ methi/ vendjayam-3 tbsp
- Idly rice-3 cups
- Urad dhal-3 tbsp
- Salt- As required
Method:
- Wash and soak fenugreek separately and rest of the ingredients together.
- Discard the water in which fenugreek was soaking. grind fenugreek in a wet grinder.
- It will become fluffy just like urad dhal. Then add rest of the ingredients and grind to idly batter consistency.
- Add salt and mix well and let it ferment overnight or 8 to 10 hrs.
- Mix well and on a iron skillet pour the batter like how utthapam is done.
- When holes appear add oil and close the dosa with a lid and cook in medium or low flame.
- Once done serve. Do not flip the dosa.
- Serve hot with sambar, chutney .
Notes:
- You can soak all the ingredients together and grind but fenugreek may take some time to grind so this method is really good.
- Doesn't taste bitter.
- Dosa will be like sponge. Very soft.
