Sev pappad chat
Ingredients:
- Pappad - As required
- Sev -As required
- Potato -2 nos
- Onion-1
- Tomato -1
- Coriander leaves- for garnish
- Green chutney- As required
- Sweet chutney- As required
- Chat masala- As required
For sweet chutney:
- Jaggery- 1/2 cup
- Water -1/2 cup
- Tamarind -small lemon size
- Red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
- Ginger -1 inch piece( grated)
- Cumin powder -1/4 tsp
- Salt- to taste
- Chat masala- 1/4 tsp
For Green chutney:
- Mint leaves -1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
- Almond-5 to 6 nos
- Green chilli - 1 or 2
- Salt - to taste
- Water - as required
Method:
- For Green chutney wash all the leaves and grind all the items together in a mixer with little water.
- For sweet chutney, first dissolve jaggery in water.
- Allow it to boil, strain it to remove any impurities.
- Now add tamarind extract, grated ginger, red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder and let it boil till raw smell of tamarind dis appears,say for about 5 to 7 mins.
- Finally add chat powder and turn off the heat.
- Boil potatoes till soft and cut them into small cubes.
- Finely chop tomato, onion and coriander.
- Now let's start plating.
- First arrange the pappad, place potato, onion, tomato.
- Then apply green and sweet chutney.
- Sprinkle chat masala.
- Now add lots of sev on top. Garnish with coriander leaves
- Enjoy your sev pappad chat..
Notes:
- Sweet chutney thickens once it cools down. So you can add little water to bring a sauce consistency.
- You can also add a tsp of thick curd on top of the pappad and have it.
- You can sandwich the pappad with another pappad and have it.
