Gooseberry pickle( Andhra style)

Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry -10- 15 now
  • Mustard seeds -1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder-3 tbsp 
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek powder -1/4 tsp
  • Lemon juice -2 to 3 tbsp
  • Sesame oil -1 tbsp
  • Salt-2 tbsp

Method:

  • Wash and dry gooseberry.
  • In a pan add a tsp of oil and Waite goose berry for about a min. ( till it becomes pale in colour). And Patrick them here and there after it cools down.
  • Dry roast mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds separately and powder them very finely.
  • Now in a pan add all the remaining spice powders, salt and turn off the gas.
  • Mix well. Add lemon juice after it cools down completely. 






Notes :

  • The above measurements are rough so adjust salt, spice and lemon juice to your taste.
  • Do not add more mustard seeds powder as it may turn bitter.
  • After a day of leaving the pickle outside refrigerate and use.
