Gooseberry pickle( Andhra style)
Ingredients:
- Gooseberry -10- 15 now
- Mustard seeds -1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder-3 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
- Fenugreek powder -1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice -2 to 3 tbsp
- Sesame oil -1 tbsp
- Salt-2 tbsp
Method:
- Wash and dry gooseberry.
- In a pan add a tsp of oil and Waite goose berry for about a min. ( till it becomes pale in colour). And Patrick them here and there after it cools down.
- Dry roast mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds separately and powder them very finely.
- Now in a pan add all the remaining spice powders, salt and turn off the gas.
- Mix well. Add lemon juice after it cools down completely.
Notes :
- The above measurements are rough so adjust salt, spice and lemon juice to your taste.
- Do not add more mustard seeds powder as it may turn bitter.
- After a day of leaving the pickle outside refrigerate and use.
