Raw banana(plantain) poriyal
Serves -2
Ingredients:
- Raw banana -2 nos
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder -1/8 tsp
- Coconut grated -1/4 cup
- Onion -1
- Curry leaves -A spring
- Salt -To taste
To temper:
- Oil -1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal -1/2 tsp
- Cumin -1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida -A pinch
Method:
- Cut raw banana into small cubes.Immerse them in water till you start cooking.
- Now in a pan add oil and temper with items mentioned under 'to temper'.
- Remove the chopped raw banana from water and coat it with red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
- Add finely chopped onion ,curry leaves and salt.Saute till onion turns soft.
- Now add the marinated raw banana. Sprinkle little water and cook it covered in a low flame.
- Once the banana is cooked add grated coconut and cook for a min.
- Serve.
Notes:
- Add chilli powder to your spice level.
