Sambar powder



We always use home made sambar/rasam powder.Every month we ground fresh sambar powder.Never make it in bulk like for 6 months or so.This sambar powder is made with very less ingredients but no compromise in taste. When I asked my mom for the recipe she told me that she doesn't know the measurement and always measures ingredients  by her hand. So I have given just rough estimate of the quantity to be used.

Ingredients:

  • Coriander seeds -3 cups
  • Dry Red chilli-2 cups or as needed
  • Channa dhal -1/2 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds -1 tbsp
  • Oil -1 tbsp

Method:

  • Roast all the above mentioned ingredients one by one till you get nice aroma.
  • Cool them and powder them in a mixie.

Notes:

  • The above mentioed quantity may be enough for two weeks and it also Depends upon how often you make sambar.
