Gravy for biryani
Ingredients:
- onion-1 big
- tomato-2 medium size
- red chilli powder-1 tsp
- turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
- coriander powder-1&1/2 tsp
- garam masala-1/2 tsp
- ginger ginger paste-1 tsp
- oil-3 tbsp
- coriander leaves-1 tsp
- curry leaves-few
- cumin-1/2 tsp
- salt- to taste
to roast and grind:
- sesame seeds-2 tsp
- ground nut-2 tsp
Method:
- Dry roast the ingredients and ground it to a fine paste by adding water.
- make onion puree and tomato puree and keep aside.
- Now in a kadai add oil followed by cumin and curry leaves.
- now add onion puree saute for two mins and add tomato puree .
- Mix well and let ot cook for 3 more mins.
- Now add all the spice powder, salt.
- Mix well and cook for 3 mins.
- Add required water,mix well,close the lid and let it boil in a low flame till the oil separates.
- Finally add ground sesame,peanut paste.
- Cook for 5 more mins in a low flame.
- Finally add coriander leaves for garnish.
- Serve hot with biryani or pulao.
