Gravy for biryani



Ingredients:

  • onion-1 big
  • tomato-2 medium size
  • red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder-1&1/2 tsp
  • garam masala-1/2 tsp
  • ginger ginger paste-1 tsp
  • oil-3 tbsp
  • coriander leaves-1 tsp
  • curry leaves-few
  • cumin-1/2 tsp
  • salt- to taste

to roast and grind:

  • sesame seeds-2 tsp
  • ground nut-2 tsp

Method:

  • Dry roast the ingredients and ground it to a fine paste by adding water.
  • make onion puree and tomato puree and keep aside.
  • Now in a kadai add oil followed by cumin and curry leaves.
  • now add onion puree saute for two mins and add tomato puree .
  • Mix well and let ot cook for 3 more mins.
  • Now add all the spice powder, salt.
  • Mix well and cook for 3 mins.
  • Add required water,mix well,close the lid and let it boil in a low flame till the oil separates.
  • Finally add ground sesame,peanut paste.
  • Cook  for 5 more mins in a low flame.
  • Finally add coriander leaves for garnish.
  • Serve hot with biryani or pulao.
