Tomato garlic chutney
Serves -3
This chutney goes well with kuzhipaniyaram and soft dosa.Garlic lovers will definitely love this chutney.Ingredients:
- Tomato -2 nos
- Red chilli -7-8 nos
- Garlic -6-7 (medium size pods)
- Turmeric -1/4 tsp
- Oil -1 tsp
- Salt -To taste
To temper:
- Oil -2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal -1/2 tsp(optional)
- Asafoetida -A pinch
- Curry leaves -Few
Method:
- First roast red chilli and garlic in oil.(roast till garlic turns golden brown in color).
- Allow it to cool.Add turmeric powder,salt and grind them with tomatoes.
- Now in a pan temper with items given under 'to temper'.
- Add the tomato mixture in it and let it boil for 5 mins in medium flame.
- Serve it with soft dosa/kuzhipaniyaram/idly.
Notes:
- Reduce or increase red chilli as per you wish for spiciness.
- Add kashmiri red chilli to get a bright color.
