Tomato garlic chutney


Serves -3
This chutney goes well with kuzhipaniyaram and soft dosa.Garlic lovers will definitely love this chutney.

Ingredients:


  • Tomato -2 nos
  • Red chilli -7-8 nos
  • Garlic -6-7 (medium size pods)
  • Turmeric -1/4 tsp
  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

To temper:


  • Oil -2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Urad dhal -1/2 tsp(optional)
  • Asafoetida -A pinch
  • Curry leaves -Few

Method:


  • First roast red chilli and garlic in oil.(roast till garlic turns golden brown in color).
  • Allow it to cool.Add turmeric powder,salt and grind them with tomatoes.
  • Now in a pan temper with items given under 'to temper'.
  • Add the tomato mixture in it and let it boil for 5 mins in medium flame.
  • Serve it with soft dosa/kuzhipaniyaram/idly.









Notes:


  • Reduce or increase red chilli as per you wish for spiciness.
  • Add kashmiri red chilli to get a bright color.
