White pumpkin Mor kuzhambu



Serves -2 to 3
A delicacy which will be served in all the festive occasions in our house.It will either be  lady's finger or white pumpkin mor kuzhambu.For mor kuzhmabu always use little sour curd.


Ingredients:

  • White pumpkin -1 big slice
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Sour curd -3/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves -1 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

To grind:

  • Coconut scrappings -1/2 cup
  • Cumin -1 tsp
  • Ginger -1/2 inch piece
  • Green chilli -2 nos

To temper :

  • Oil -2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves -Few
  • Asafoetida -A pinch

Method:

  • Cut pumpkin into cubes.Add water (about 1 cup),salt and turmeric powder and boil till pumpkin gets cooked.
  • Grind all the ingredients given under 'to grind'.
  • Add this to the cooked pumpkin.
  • Boil it for 2 mins and then turn off the gas.
  • Now beat the curd well and add it to the pumpkin coconut mixture.
  • Temper it with items given under 'to temper'.
  • Serve with hot rice.








Notes:

  • Use sour curd for best results.
  • You can make the same with chayote /chow chow also.
