Radish leaves Poriyal


Serves -2

Ingredients:

  • Chopped radish leaves- 3 cups
  • Onion-1
  • Coconut scrapings- 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/8 tsp
  • Salt- to taste

To temper:

  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Urad dhal-1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli -2
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Asafoetida-a pinch

Method:

  • Wash and chop the leaves finely( use the stem part too).
  • In a pan temper with items mentioned under'to temper'.
  • Add finely chopped onion when it turns transparent add chopped leaves.
  • Add required salt, turmeric powder and cook covered in a low flame. Stir in between.
  • Once done add grated coconut,mix well and turn off the flame.




Notes:

  • Be cautious while adding salt. Very little salt is enough for this poriyal. Taste it and then add if you want more.
