Radish leaves Poriyal
Serves -2
Ingredients:
- Chopped radish leaves- 3 cups
- Onion-1
- Coconut scrapings- 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-1/8 tsp
- Salt- to taste
To temper:
- Oil-1 tsp
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
- Urad dhal-1/2 tsp
- Red chilli -2
- Curry leaves- few
- Asafoetida-a pinch
Method:
- Wash and chop the leaves finely( use the stem part too).
- In a pan temper with items mentioned under'to temper'.
- Add finely chopped onion when it turns transparent add chopped leaves.
- Add required salt, turmeric powder and cook covered in a low flame. Stir in between.
- Once done add grated coconut,mix well and turn off the flame.
Notes:
- Be cautious while adding salt. Very little salt is enough for this poriyal. Taste it and then add if you want more.
