Upma(for fasting)

We make this upma during fasting times.Especially on ekadesi times. I love this upma and goes best with sugar or pickle.So easy to make with no much ingredients.
Ingredients:
- Rava/Sooji -1 cup
- Green chilli -4 os
- Curd -2 tbsp
- Grated coconut-2 tbsp
- Asafoetida -A pinch
- Coriander leaves -1 tbsp
- Salt -to taste
To temper:
- Oil-2 tsp
- Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal -1/2 tsp
- Channa dhal -1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves -1 spring
Method:
- Dry roast rava/sooji for about 2 minutes till you get nice aroma. This avoids formation of lumps while making upma.
- In a pan temper with items given under 'to temper'.
- Then add green chilli followed by 2 cups of water(or add more if it requires) and coconut gratings and curd.
- Add salt,coriander leaves, when it comes to boil add rava/sooji and mix well so that there are no lumps.
- Close the pan cook till done in low flame.
- Serve with sugar/pickle &curd.
Notes:
- Adding coconut and curd gives good flavour and taste as we don't add anything else in this.
- Add more water if needed.
