Drumstick leaves poriyal

Serves-2 

Ingredients:

  • Drumstick leaves- a bunch 
  • Coconut scrapping- 3tbsp
  • Moong dhal-3 tbsp
  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida-a pinch
  • Red chilli -2 nos or pepper powder-1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/8 tsp
  • Salt - to taste

Method:

  • Separate the leaves and wash them well.
  • In a pan add oil and temper with mustard seeds asafoetida and red chilli.
  • Now add drum sticks leaves and moong dhal, turmeric powder.
  • Sprinkle little water and cook them in a low flame.
  • Once done add required salt, coconut scrapping s. Cook for about 30 secs and turn off the flame.



Notes:

  • Adding more coconut and moongdhal improves the taste of the poriyal.
  • You can omit red chilli and add pepper powder at last.
  • This leaves would shrink a lot. So you need more leaves.
