Drumstick leaves poriyal
Serves-2
Ingredients:
- Drumstick leaves- a bunch
- Coconut scrapping- 3tbsp
- Moong dhal-3 tbsp
- Oil-2 tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida-a pinch
- Red chilli -2 nos or pepper powder-1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/8 tsp
- Salt - to taste
Method:
- Separate the leaves and wash them well.
- In a pan add oil and temper with mustard seeds asafoetida and red chilli.
- Now add drum sticks leaves and moong dhal, turmeric powder.
- Sprinkle little water and cook them in a low flame.
- Once done add required salt, coconut scrapping s. Cook for about 30 secs and turn off the flame.
Notes:
- Adding more coconut and moongdhal improves the taste of the poriyal.
- You can omit red chilli and add pepper powder at last.
- This leaves would shrink a lot. So you need more leaves.
