Plantain Bajji



Ingredients:

  • Gram( besan) flour/ kadala maavu-1/2 cup
  • Rice flour-2 tbsp
  • Corn flour-2 tsp
  • Cumin/ jeera-1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
  • Baking soda-a pinch
  • Oil-to deep fry
  • Salt-to taste

Method:

  • In a bowl add all the above ingredients mix well and add required water to make lump free batter like dosa batter.
  • Peel plantain and slice them using slicer.
  • Dip them in the batter shake the excess batter and deep fry them in oil.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney/ sambar.







Notes:

  • In case if you would like to avoid soda add 2 tsp of hot oil to the batter.
  • As you are frying just push hot oil on the top of Bajji  so it would puff up.
  • I used kashmiri red chilli powder so it gave me bright colour without adding any artificial colours.
