Plantain Bajji
Ingredients:
- Gram( besan) flour/ kadala maavu-1/2 cup
- Rice flour-2 tbsp
- Corn flour-2 tsp
- Cumin/ jeera-1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder-1 tsp
- Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
- Baking soda-a pinch
- Oil-to deep fry
- Salt-to taste
Method:
- In a bowl add all the above ingredients mix well and add required water to make lump free batter like dosa batter.
- Peel plantain and slice them using slicer.
- Dip them in the batter shake the excess batter and deep fry them in oil.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney/ sambar.
Notes:
- In case if you would like to avoid soda add 2 tsp of hot oil to the batter.
- As you are frying just push hot oil on the top of Bajji so it would puff up.
- I used kashmiri red chilli powder so it gave me bright colour without adding any artificial colours.
