Radish thogayal



Ingredients:

  • Radish-  1cup ( grated)
  • Urad dhal-2 tbsp
  • Red chilli-4
  • Tamarind-1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida- a pinch
  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Salt-to taste

Method:

  • Grate radish.
  • In a pan add oil followed by urad dhal and red chilli. When it turns golden brown remove and keep aside.
  • Gently squeeze radish and add it to the same pan. Saute for a min. Add turmeric powder and radish juice little by little.
  • When the raw smell dis appears turn off the flame.
  • Transfer it to mixer and add salt,tamarind.
  • Grind it coarsely add little  water if required. ( You can add left over radish juice if available).
  • Goes well with rice.
