Cauliflower peas kurma

Serves -3

Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower- 1 small 
  • Peas -1/2 cup ( I used frozen)
  • Onion -1
  • Tomato -1&1/2
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves-2 tbsp
  • Mint leaves-1 tbsp
  • Oil -2 tbsp
  • Salt - To taste 

To grind:

  • Coconut -1/4 cup
  • Cashew nut -5
  • Gram dhal/ pottu kadalai -1 tbsp
  • Green chilli-2
  • Red chilli- 2
  • Ginger -1 inch piece 
  • Garlic-3-4 cloves
  • Cinnamon  -1/2 inch piece 
  • Cloves -2
  • Cardamom -1

Method:

  •  Cook Cauliflower florets with Turmeric powder and little salt till they are 3/4 th done.( I used frozen peas so I added it with florets. If you are using fresh peas first cook them and proceed with further steps)
  • In a pan add oil and chopped onion.
  • when it turns transparent add tomato.
  • Grind the items to a paste mentioned under ' to grind'.
  • When tomato becomes mushy add the coconut masala paste and salt.
  • Cook till oil separates.
  • Add peas and 3/4 th done cauliflower.
  • Add coriander and mint leaves and cook covered for 5 to 7 mins. 
  • Serve with chapathi/ parotta/ poori.








Notes :

  • If you don't feel enough spicy then add red chilli powder else it is not necessary.
