Paneer peas pulao


Serves -2

Ingredients:


  • Basmati rice - 1 cup
  • Peas -1/2 cup ( I used frozen peas)
  • Paneer -15 - 20 cubes
  • Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
  • Onion -1
  • Green chilli-2 to 3
  • Carrot -1/4 cup chopped ( optional)
  • Mint leaves chopped -2 tsp ( optional)
  • Salt - To taste 

To temper:


  • Oil -2 tbsp
  • Cinnamon-1/2 inch piece
  • Cumin -1/2 tsp
  • Cloves -2
  • Cardamom-1

Method:

  •  Soak Basmati rice for 20 to 30 mins.
  • In a pan add oil and temper with items mentioned.
  • Then add onion, ginger garlic paste and green chilli.
  • When onion turns transparent add  peas and carrot.
  • Cook till veggies are done. Then add salt and 1&1/2 cup water. 
  • When water comes to boil add soaked Basmati rice . Close the lid and cook in medium flame till done.
  • Stir in between to avoid burnt bottom.
  • Shallow fry paneer and add it to the pulao.
  • Shallow frying is optional. You can just add paneer after blanching it .






Notes:

  •  My onion caramelised so pulao came out brown in colour .😏
  • So don't allow the onion to caramelise. You will get a nice white colour pulao.🤗
