Corn kebab
Serves -2
Kebab came into my favourite list right from the time I had it in a get together party. I wanted to try kebab at home. I tried corn kebab for the first time and it came out amazing.. It was sooo tasty and I loved it. Pls don't miss this kebab do try it. I tried three ways of making it and all three types of kebabs were yummy😄😄. I personally feel the one coated with bread crumbs was soooo good.
Ingredients:
- Sweet corn -1
- Potato -1
- Onion -1 small
- Coriander leaves-2 tbsp
- Mint leaves -2 tbsp
- Bread crumbs -2 tbsp
- Corn flour - 1 or 1&1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder -1/2 tsp
- Garam masala -1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice - 2 tsp
- Melted butter - 2 tsp
- Oil - 3 tsp or as needed to deep/ shallow fry
- Salt - To taste
Method :
- Boil Potatoes and peel it's skin.
- In a mixing bowl grate sweet corn. DISCARD ANY EXCESS WATER FROM SWEET CORN
- NO NEED TO SQUEEZE AND REMOVE THE WATER FROM IT. Just discard the water which comes out of it while grating.
- Now add the mashed potato followed by all the ingredients mentioned above.
- Taste the mixture and adjust it to suit your taste.
- Now if you want to bake this,
- Press them in wooden/ bamboo skewers. Line a baking tray with silver foil ,apply oil generously on the kebab.
- Pre-heat the oven to 230 degree C and bake for 15 mins s or till done.
- If you want to fry it just make it into any shapes and fry them in oil.
- If you want to give a nice texture to the kebab just roll them in plain bread crumbs and fry. This gives you an amazing texture and taste.
- Serve hot with mint sauce or tomato sauce.
Notes:
- The corn masala mixture should not be too gooey as it would disintegrate in oil.
- It should be stiff enough so that it can hold it's shape.
- No need any maida batter do dip the stuff just plain bread crumbs will do.
- The Skewers will turn brown but that's not an issue. Kebabs which I made In Skewers got hold to it so I ate it from the Skewers itself😆. But nothing affected it's taste.
- Adjust cornflour according to your need. But don't add more than 2 tbsp.
