Onion Pakoda
Serves -2
Onion becomes very very tasty when it is fried, the caramalizedtaste of onion.Mmmmmmmm...Wow simply amazing.Though there are many type of pakodas/pakoras I always vote for onion pakoda.Just imagine a rainy day with a combo of hot masala tea and hot onion pakoda that will just be amazing.
Ingredients:
- Onion -2 large
- Gram flour/besan -1/4 cup
- Rice flour -2 tbsp
- Ginger -1 inch piece
- Green chilli -1
- Red chilli powder -1 tsp
- Curry leaves -1 spring
- Mint leaves -Few(optional)
- Cooking soda -A pinch
- Fennel seeds -1/4 tsp (optional)
- Water -3-4 tbsp
- Oil -For deep fry
- Salt -To taste
Method:
- Cut onion lengthwise, cut ginger into thin strips.chop green chilli.
- Now add all the ingredients mentioned above sprinkle little water and mix well.
- Check for salt and spice.
- Deep fry them in oil.
- Serve.
Notes:
- If you have added more water add some gram flour/besan to adjust.
- I dint add fennel seeds and cooking soda still it tasted great.
- My pakoda mix was little loose in consistency but it was ok for me.
- Instead of adding besan, rice flour, red chilli powder and soda you can replace these with bajji mix.(it's quite simple, isn't it?)
