Shallots chutney





Serves -2
Quite interesting recipe and very easy to make.It is a good side dish for dosa/utthappam and idly.


Ingredients:

  • Shallots/Small onion -10 nos
  • Coconut -1/4 cup
  • Red chilli -3-4 nos
  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

To temper:

  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves -Few
  • Red chilli -1
  • Asafoetida -A pinch

Method:

  • In a pan add 1 tsp of oil and roast red chilli,shallots,coconut.
  • Add salt and grind it to chutney.
  • Temper it with items given under 'to temper'.

Notes:

  • A small piece of tamarind can be added while roasting.
