Palak keerai kootu



Very simple yet flavourful kootu is this palak keerai kootu.Do try it.
Serves -3

Ingredients:

  • Spinach/ palak - 1 cup tightly packed
  • Onion -1
  • Moong dhal - 1/2 cup( cooked)
  • Green chilli -3
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp 
  • Salt - To taste

To temper :

  • Oil- 3 tsp
  • Cumin - 1 tsp
  • Garlic-3 to 4 cloves

Method :

  • Pressure  cook moong dhal.
  • In a pan add oil followed by onion and green chilli. 
  • Saute till onion turns transparent and add chopped palak/ spinach.
  • Saute till it reduces in volume and add salt, Turmeric powder. 
  • Add water and cooked moong dhal.
  • Turn off the flame when it comes to boil.
  • Now temper with items given under ' to temper '. (Add garlic crushed with its skin on)
  • Serve with rice.






Notes:

  • Here garlic is very important as it brings out amazing flavour. So don't skip it.
