Paneer tikka
Serves -2
It's my long time wish to make paneer tikka. As soon as I purchased skewerseparately I tried this tikka. Came out perfect.Do try it.
Ingredients:
- Paneer cubes -10-15 nos
- Capsicum -1( I used tri colour capsicum)
- Onion -1
- Tomato -1 (optional)
- Hung yoghurt -3 tbsp
- Red chilli powder-1 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder -1/2 tsp
- Chat masala -1/2 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp (optional)
- Lemon juice -1 tsp
- Oil -3 tbsp
- Salt- To taste
Method :
- Mix all the spice powders, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste and salt in hung curd to make the marination ready.
- Cut Capsicum, onion and tomato(deseeded) into cubes.
- Marinate all these along with paneer and let it refrigerate for about an hour.
- Now place them in Skewers as shown in picture.
- Apply Mustard oil/ ordinary oil on the paneer generously.
- Line the pan with silver foil and prick it so that excess water and oil from tikka escapes.
- Pre heat the oven to 180 degree and bake for about 15 to 20 mins or untill the edges of paneer turn brown.
- Serve with tomato sauce.
Notes:
- Hang normal curd in muslin cloth for about an hour to get hung curd.
- I used very thick curd instead of hung curd I felt no change in taste.
- Taste the marination before coating the paneer and Capsicum.
- You can also make it on stove top. Use a dosa tawa and turn the Skewers every now and then to ensure even cooking ( in this case paneer may stick to tawa.Be careful).
