French fries

Serves -2

Ingredients:

  • Potato -  2 large 
  • Oil  - To deep fry
  • Pepper - As required
  • Salt - As required.

Method:

  • Select good large potatoes. Wash them and peel it's skin.
  • Now chop them into 1/2 inch thick strips.
  • Immerse them in water to remove extra starch. Wash them again.
  • Now in a large vessel bring water to boil. Add some salt in it
  • When water is boiling add the potatoes and allow it cook for about a min.
  • Strain the potatoes and rinse in cold water (ice cold water works best) to stop it from getting cooked.
  • Now drain them in a kitchen towel. Pat dry.
  • Store them in a zip lock cover and freeze it in freezer for about an hour or two.
  • Before frying them bring them to room temperature.
  • Oil should not be very hot. Keep the flame in medium.
  • Fry them till they turn golden brown.
  • Drain them in a paper towel. Add salt and pepper.
  • Serve hot with ketchup.








Notes:

  • You can make in bulk and store them in freezer and fry them whenever you want.
