French fries
Serves -2
Ingredients:
- Potato - 2 large
- Oil - To deep fry
- Pepper - As required
- Salt - As required.
Method:
- Select good large potatoes. Wash them and peel it's skin.
- Now chop them into 1/2 inch thick strips.
- Immerse them in water to remove extra starch. Wash them again.
- Now in a large vessel bring water to boil. Add some salt in it
- When water is boiling add the potatoes and allow it cook for about a min.
- Strain the potatoes and rinse in cold water (ice cold water works best) to stop it from getting cooked.
- Now drain them in a kitchen towel. Pat dry.
- Store them in a zip lock cover and freeze it in freezer for about an hour or two.
- Before frying them bring them to room temperature.
- Oil should not be very hot. Keep the flame in medium.
- Fry them till they turn golden brown.
- Drain them in a paper towel. Add salt and pepper.
- Serve hot with ketchup.
Notes:
- You can make in bulk and store them in freezer and fry them whenever you want.
