Nei appam



Ingredients:

  • Coconut-1/4 cup ( grated) 
  • Raw rice -1 cup
  • Jaggery- 3/4 cup
  • Cooking soda- 3 pinches
  • Cardamom powder- few pinch
  • Ghee- as required ( to make appam)
  • Salt - a pinch

Method:

  • Soak rice for about 3 hours. Grind it to a thick paste by adding little water.elt jaggery with little water and strain to remove any impurities.
  • Add coconut gratings, cardamom, salt, cooking soda and melted jaggery.
  • Heat kuzhipaniyaram kadai,add ghee in each hole and add batter.
  • Cook both sides till golden brown.
  • Serve.







Notes:

  • Increase or decrease jaggery quantity to suit your taste buds.
