Keerai cabbage poriyal

Ingredients:

  • Any keerai - 1 cup ( chopped, I used amaranth leaves/ mulaikeerai)
  • Cabbage- 1 cup ( chopped)
  • Green chilli- 1
  • Coconut gratings - 2 tbsp
  • Salt- To taste

To temper :

  • Oil-2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/4  tsp
  • Cumin-1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida-a pinch
  • Curry leaves -few

Method:

  • Chop cabbage and keerai finely.
  • In a pan temper with items mentioned under'to temper'.
  • Now add green chilli followed by keeria and cabbage. Saute for 2 mins.
Add required salt,and sprinkle little water,close the lid and cook in low flame till done.
  • When it is cooked add coconut gartings mix well and turn off the flame.
  • Serve.



Notes:

  • You may add finely chopped onion if you like.
  • You can replace green chilli with pepper powder.
