Aachari paneer
Serves -4
The name of the dish itself was quite interesting to me.To my surprise this dish has no garam masala in it.Came out perfect and tasted excelent.
Ingredients:
To dry roast:
- Dry Red chilli -5-6 nos
- Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds/vendhayam/-1/4 tsp
- Coriander seeds -2 tsp
- Cumin/jeera -1 tsp
- Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp(optional)
For gravy:
- Oil -3 tbsp
- Paneer cubes -15
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste -1/2 tsp
- Onion -1 large
- Tomato -1 large
- Capsicum -1 medium size
- Yoghurt -1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves -2 tbsp
- Sugar -1/4 tsp
- Salt -To taste
Method:
- Dry roast all the ingredients given under 'to dry roast'.Make them into coarse powder.
- Now add tomato and capsicum to that powder and make a fine paste without adding water.
- In a pan add oil,Onion and salt.Saute till onion becomes golden brown.Now add ginger garlic paste.
- Saute well.Now add the grinded paste and cook it till oil oozes out.
- Beat the yoghurt nicely and then add it to the gravy.
- Let it boil for 2 more mins.
- Now add paneer cubes and sugar.
- Finally add coriander leaves and turn off the gas.
- Serve with roti/phulkas/chappathi or with any mild pulao varieties or with jeera pulao.
Notes:
- You can fry paneer and add.
- I added kashmiri red chilli so that it will give good colour to the dish.
- If sourness is not enough you can add 1/4-1/2 tsp of amchoor powder.
