Paneer Butter Masala

One of the most favorite dish for most of us.I love paneer and  PBM is my most favourite gravy made with paneer.Very tasty yummy gravy.A pakka side dish for butter naan/roti/phulkas/chapathi .Never miss this.

Ingredients:

  • Paneer cubes-15-20 nos
  • Butter -2-3 tbsp
  • Bay leaf -1
  • Cardamom -1
  • Cloves -2
  • Cinnamon -1 small stick
  • Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
  • Tomato -3
  • Milk -1/2 cup
  • Fresh cream -1/2 cup
  • Cashewnuts -7-8 nos
  • Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Garam masala -1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder -1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli -1
  • Ginger juveniles -5-6 strands
  • Kasoori methi -1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves -2 tsp
  • Sugar -1/4 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

Method:

  • Blend tomatoes in a mixer and make puree out of it.
  • In a pan add butter and add whole garam masala,ginger garlic paste.
  • Add tomato puree and cook in medium flame till it thickens.
  • Soak cashewnuts in luke warm water and make paste out of it.
  • Add it to the tomato gravy and mix well.
  • Now add all the spice powders,salt and mix well.
  • Now add milk little by little and mix well.Incorporate entire milk in this way.
  • Next add green chilli,ginger and pepper powder.
  • Add kasoori methi and mix well.
  • Finally add sugar and paneer cubes,fresh cream,coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve with chapathi/Naan.













Notes:

  • I dint add cream.You can replace cream with 1/2 cup of milk.
  • You can make with 1/2 oil and 1/2 butter also.But for the richness of gravy can avoid oil.
  • I soaked paneer cubes in hot water before adding for extra softness.
  • You can also fry paneer and then add.But I mostly  avoid frying paneer in my cooking.
