Cabbage Pakoda
Cabbage pakoda is similar to onion pakoda in preparation and of course very very tasty as onion pakoda.You can make this pakoda with or without onions.During religious functions some do not add onion in food items,during such times you can definitely try this cabbage pakoda.
Ingredients:
- Cabbage -1/2 (medium size)
- Onion -1 large(optional)
- Ginger -1 inch piece
- Green chilli -1
- Red chilli powder -1 tsp
- Curry leaves -Few
- Rice flour -2 tsp
- Gram flour -3 tbsp
- Water -As needed
- Oil -To deep fry
- Food colour -A pinch (optional)
- Salt -To taste
Method:
- Chop cabbage and onion into thin slices.Chop ginger and green chilli into thin strips.
- Now mix all the dry ingredients mentioned above.
- Sprinkle very little water and mix well.
- Fry them as pakodas.
- Serve.
Notes:
- Once fried consume within an hour, else it will loose its crispiness.But it will still be tasty.
- Can be stored for 2 days.
- In case of adding more water adjust it by adding more gram flour.
- Taste the mix before frying.
- My mix was bit loose in consistency but it was ok for me.
- Use kashmiri red chilli powder so that you can avoid food colour.But food colour is generally not advisable for health.
