Kosambari
Makes -1 cup
Kosambari is an easy dish made with moong dhal.We usually make kosambari during Sri rama navami,Navaratri,Narasimma jayanthi. It is also served as one of the dish in the lunch made for special occasions(like marriage,festivals etc).Ingredients:
- Moong dhal -3/4 cup
- Carrot -1/2 cup (grated)
- Raw mango -1/2 cup (grated)
- Coriander -1 tbsp
- Salt -To taste
To temper:
- Oil -1 tsp
- Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal -1/2 tsp(optional)
- Green chilli -1
- Curry leaves -Few
- Asafoetida -A pinch
Method:
- Soak moong dhal for 30-45 mins.
- Drain the water and add grated carrot, mango and chopped coriander.
- Add salt to taste.
- Season with items given under 'to temper'.
Notes:
- Before making the dish make sure that the moong dhal has soaked well.
- If you don't have raw mango add juice from 1/2 a lemon.
