Gobi Manchurian

Whenever I go to hotel I order either gobi 65 or gobi manchurian as starter.I love cauliflower when it is in manchurian type. Lets get into its making.

Ingredients:

For Gobi fry:

  • Cauliflower florets -10 nos
  • Maida/All purpose flour -4 tbsp
  • Corn flour -2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1/2 tsp
  • Water -1/4 cup-1/2 cup
  • Oil -For deep fry
  • Salt -To taste

For manchurian:

  • Spring onion -1 bunch
  • Onion -1 small
  • Capsicum -1
  • Coriander leaves -1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce -2 tsp
  • Tomato sauce -1 tsp
  • Cornflour -1 tsp
  • Water -1/4 cup
  • Garlic -4 pods
  • Green chilli -1
  • Oil-1 tbsp
  • Salt -To taste

Method:

  • Make the batter ready by using the ingredients given under 'for gobi fry'.
  • Blanch cauliflower florets in turmeric water,drain them.
  • Then dip them in batter and deep fry them.Keep it aside.
  • Now in a pan add oil,Finely chopped garlic pods,followed by white part of spring onion.
  • Then add finely chopped green chilli, onion and saute.
  • When onion turns transparent add capsicum and cook them for 2 mins.
  • Now add salt,soy sauce,tomato sauce and mix well.
  • Now add fried cauliflower florets.
  • Mix 1 tsp of corn flour in 1/4 cup of water and add them to above mixture.
  • Mix well. Finally add green part of spring onion,coriander leaves.
  • Check for salt and serve.
  • A good combo when served with fried rice.








Notes:

  • Can have gobi fries as such also.
  • Can add Aji no moto to enhance taste.But it is better to avoid.
  • I din't add capsicum.
