Aloo paratha type 2

Makes 7 parathas

During my school time one of my classmate used to bring aloo paratha. From that time onwards I became a hardcore fan of it.. But I could not find any aloo paratha as tasty as hers. After getting married, one day I tried it myself by knowing the recipe... WOW it was awesome.. So whenever I feel lazy making side dish for chapathi I make aloo paratha. Do try this. This is will be very soft and melt like butter in your mouth. Tastes good even when it is not hot.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes -4 medium size
  • Onion -1 large
  • Coriander leaves -1 handful
  • Green chilli -1 no
  • Cumin/jeera - 1tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Corriander powder -1&1/2 tsp
  • Amchoor powder -1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Oil -2 tbsp
  • Salt -To taste

Method:

  • Boil potatoes and grate them.
  • In a pan add oil, cumin when it turns brown add ginger garlic paste, finely chopped onion and green chilli,
  • When onion turns soft add grated potato and mix well.
  • Now add all the spices and mix well.
  • Finally add finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • Stuff it in chapathi dough and roll it.
  • Toast it with oil or butter.
  • Serve it with curd and pickle.

Notes:

  • Instead of amchoor powder you can add 1 tsp lime juice.
  • Taste the filling before stuffing.
  • For soft paratha, chapathi dough should be soft enough.
  • The size of the filling ball should be equal to size of chapathi ball you take for a tastier paratha.
