Spinach paratha



Makes 6 parathas

Once my mom made chappathi with leftover 'keerai poriyal'.This idea sounded different and i added my touch and started making chappathi like this. In this way you can make your kids to eat green leafy vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • Atta/Wheat flour -2 cups
  • Spinach/palak -2 Cups tightly packed
  • Red chilli powder -1tsp
  • Corriander powder -1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Amchoor powder -1/4 tsp
  • Kasoori meth -1/2 tsp
  • Salt -To taste
  • Oil -3tsp

Method:

  • Blanch spinach in boiling water and strain it.
  • In a pan add oil,blanched spinach,and all the above mentioned ingredients and mix well.
  • Now add the above mixture to wheat flour and make it a dough by adding water.
  • The dough should be soft enough.
  • Roll and make it it into rotis.
  • Serve it hot with curd.






Notes:

  • While blanching spinach add little sugar so that the spinach retains it colour.
  • The dough should be made and kept atleast half an hour before making rotis
  • Apply oil on the top of the dough so that the moisture is locked.
