Black eye beans sundal



Serves -3

Very healthy and nutritive one.I first felt that this one will not be as tasty as sundals made out of channa but later on after tasting it I felt that it is  much more better than those.

Ingredients:

  • Black eye beans -1cup
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

To grind:

  • Ginger -1 inch piece
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Coconut -1/4-1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves -2 tbsp

To temper:

  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Urad dhal -1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves -1 spring
  • Asafoetida -1/4 tsp

Method:

  • Soak black eye beans overnight and pressure cook it with 2-3 cups of water, salt and turmeric powder for 3 whistles.
  • In a mixie grind all the ingredients given under 'to grind'.
  • In a pan temper the items given under 'to temper',and add cooked beans
  • Then add the grinded mixture and stir well.
  • Check for salt and serve.











Notes:

  • Take care while adding salt as we have added salt while pressure cooking .
