Palak paneer
Serves-4
Palak paneer is a green beauty.I Like this dish and it is best way to make kids eat greens.Try and enjoy.
Ingredients:
- Spinach/palak -1 cup (tightly packed)
- Paneer cubes -15-20nos
- Onion -1 large
- Tomato -1 large
- Green chilli -2 nos
- Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
- Oil/Butter -1 tbsp
- Cumin/jeera -1 tsp
- Cinnamon -1 small stick
- Cardamom -2
- Cloves -2
- Red chilli powder -1 tsp
- Coriander powder -1 tsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Garam masala -1/4 tsp
- Kasoori methi -1/4 tsp
- Milk -1/4 cup
- Fresh cream -1/4 cup
- Sugar -1/4 tsp
- Salt -To taste
Method:
- Blanch spinach with little sugar so that spinach will retain its colour.
- Immediately run spinach in cold water to stop it from getting cooked.
- Grind spinach with green chilli to a paste.
- In a pan add Oil/butter and add whole garam masala followed by jeera.
- Add onion and saute for 2 mins.Add ginger garlic paste and saute.
- Add tomato and cook till it turns mushy.Add turmeric,red chilli and coriander powder and saute.
- Now add palak,green chilli puree.Cook till raw smell goes. Add salt.
- Now add milk little by little and stir.
- Similarly add cream little by little and stir.Add sugar.
- Finally add kasoori methi and paneer cubes.
- Serve hot with chapathi.
Notes:
- You can avoid cream and add 1/2 cup of milk.
