Mint chutney
Serves -3
This is my mother's recipe.She used to make this chutney whenever there is mint at home.I use to have this as a side dish for rasam and curd rice.Just this chutney with curd rice is one of the best lunch to me.
Ingredients:
- Mint -2cups
- Urad dhal -1/2 cup
- Whole red chilli -6-7 nos
- Tamrind -A small piece
- Oil -1tbsp
- Salt -To taste
- Water -To grind
Method:
- Wash mint leaves and keep aside.
- In a pan add oil,then add urad dhal followed by red chilli and tamrind.
- When Urad dhal turns golden brown add Mint leaves.
- Cook till Mint leaves reduces in size.
- Allow it to cool and grind it with salt and water.
- Serve it with hot steaming rice.
Notes:
- If you want you can add coconut while grinding.
- This chutney should not be runny.It must be thick enough so that you can mix it with rice.
