Onion tomato chutney



Serves-4

I love this chutney a lot. A perfect combination for idli/dosa.Sometimes I have it with curd rice also.One of the best chutney that I learned from my mom.

Ingredients:

  • Onion -2 medium 
  • Tomato -2 large
  • Coriander -1/4 cup
  • Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Salt -To taste
  • Oil -1 tsp

To temper:

  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida -A pinch
  • Curry leaves -Few

Method:

  • In a pan add oil and saute chopped onions.When it turns transparent add tomato.
  • Then add turmeric ,red chilli powder and salt.Saute for 3 mins.
  • Finally add coriander leaves and grind it to chutney.
  • Temper with items given under 'to temper'.






Notes:

  • You can avoid coriander leaves.
  • Do not add water while grinding.
  • Instead of red chilli powder you can add whole red chilli.If so add 4 nos.
