Wheat flour halwa

This wheat halwa which belongs to northern part of India is a total contrast to wheat halwa made in south(Tirunelveli).This halwa is very easy to make.Very less number of ingredients so you can make whenever you feel like.Taste wise I don't feel that it is as good as rest of the halwa varieties.But it depends on one's taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour/Atta -1/2 cup
  • Sugar -1/2 cup
  • Water -1/2 cup
  • Ghee -1/4 cup
  • Cardamom -A pinch
  • Cashew nuts -5 nos
  • Salt -A pinch

Method:

  • In a pan add ghee and add wheat flour.Roast till the wheat flour turns red and nice aroma arises.
  • Add water with salt  and stir.It will get cooked soon.
  • Then add sugar and cardamom powder.Keep stirring till it turns glossy and ghee oozes out.
  • Serve.





Notes:

  • If you want add more ghee.Do not reduce the quantity of ghee.
  • If you are adding cashew nuts add it before you add wheat flour.
