Ponnakanni keerai poriyal
Serves- 3
Ingredients:
- Ponnakanni keerai -1 bunch
- Coconut scarpings -1/4 cup
- Moong dhal -1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Water -1/4 cup
- Sugar -A pinch
- Salt -To taste
To temper:
- Oil -1 tsp
- Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
- Channa dhal -1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal -1/4 tsp
- Whole red chilli -2
Method:
- Separate only the leaf part of Ponnakanni. Wash twice and keep it aside.
- In a pan temper with items given under 'to temper'.
- Then add the leaves and moong dhal.
- Add water,turmeric powder ,salt and mix well.
- Close the pan with a lid and cook in medium flame.
- Stir in between add more water if it is not enough.
- When leaves are cooked add coconut scrapings and a pinch of sugar.
- Serve.
- You can avoid moong dhal.Adding moong dhal gives good taste.
