Carrot chutney



Serves -3

This chutney has a touch of sweet and a punch of ginger.Those who crave for a variety in  chutney can try this one.You can have this chutney with rice and also suits dosa.

Ingredients:

  • Carrot(grated) -1cup
  • Channa dhal -2 tsp
  • Shallots -5-6 nos
  • Red chilli -3-4 nos
  • Ginger -1inch piece
  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Salt -To taste

To temper:

  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida -A pinch
  • Curry leaves -Few

Method:

  • In a pan add oil,channa dhal when it turns red add red chilli,shallots,ginger.
  • Saute for 2 mins.Then add grated carrot.Cook till raw smell of carrot disappears.
  • Add salt,water and grind it.
  • Temper it with items given under 'to temper',
  • Serve with rice/ dosa.








Notes:

  • You cannot expect this chutney to be as tasty as usual chutney we make.
  • But it is good and healthy.
