Cauliflower peas paratha

In my in-laws home they eat cauliflower 'poriyal'.I hate cauliflower when it is made as such.Eating cauliflower in kurma or as a fried one will be delicious but as 'poriyal'   NO WAY...Always having fried items is not good for health.So to cut down the oil and to have cauliflower in some other healthy form I chose cauliflower Paratha.Very healthy and best way to have cauliflower and peas.

Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower -1/2 (or 1 small size)
  • Peas -1 cup
  • Red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Amchoor powder -1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli -1
  • Coriander leaves -3 tbsp
  • Salt -To taste

Method:

  • Separate the florets and blanch them with salt and turmeric powder.
  • When water boils turn off the gas,strain them and run it under cold water to stop cooking.
  • Now grate the florets finely in a grater.
  • In a pan add the grated cauliflower and saute it till water evaporates.
  • Now add finely chopped green chilli and all the spices,salt.Mix well.
  • Now add peas and mix well.Finally add coriander leaves.
  • When the mixture cools down knead it well so that peas will get mashed.
  • Stuff it in roti dough and knead well.
  • Toast them with butter or oil.
  • Serve with pickle and curd or with some gravy.










Notes:

  • Instead of amchoor powder you can add 1/2 tsp of lemon juice.
  • You can mash the peas first and then add it to cauliflower.
  • Mine was frozen peas so I added as such.
  • If you are adding fresh peas first cook them till soft and then add.
